When they’re not pecking around looking for insects and tasty greens to eat the chickens are lolling in their various dirt baths around the farm. Their favorite is in and around the big old apple tree.
Often they leave their baths for a drink of water on the back porch, then shake their whole bodies, their feathers fluffing up and separating like individual fingers.
After they are done there is a dusting of dirt where they stood.
