The Apple Tree Logs

Fanny and Lulu hanging out with the logs

When the branch on the apple tree broke, I knew there would be less shade in the barnyard for the donkeys and sheep.

But there’s still another big branch that hangs over the fence where they can stay cool. And the fallen branch now serves a different purpose for the animals.

Robin loves to lay between the logs and is usually there every morning. The donkeys are enjoying eating the softer parts of the logs, and chewing on the bark.  They’re also make good scratching posts.

At some point we’ll have the logs split for firewood. But I think we’ll leave one or two in the barnyard.  By now they seem to belong there.
