I wasn’t thinking about the symbolism of the Dragonfly when I made these pothodlers.
Carolyn sent me the fabric and I easily moved to working with it after making my Crow Red Quilt. Crow Red was definitely earth, grounded in the first and second chakras.
The Dragonflies are air.
When I looked up the symbolism for dragonflies, I found they represent self-realization. It seems my coming to know my true self is never-ending. I think this is true of so many of us, there is always more to be revealed, to be seen, understood, and accepted.
I made ten Dragonfly Potholders last week. Most of them sold before I got to post them in my Etsy Shop. But I do have two available. And I will be making more. I’m craving the air and that iridescent light.
