A simple backstitch in a wavey line is how I decided to attach the old quilt backing to the water/sky.
Then I went did two more rows of stitching to thicken it and trimmed the old quilt back.
With that my Heron is just about done.
Now, to hem the sides, and bottom then sew a backing on it.
Just gorgeous!!
🙂
Incredible! Can’t wait for my print of it. Do you feel that this is your best work? I do.
I don’t know Sandy. I think I’m too close to it. But thank you.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thanks Joanne!
Wow. Wow. Wow. That’s it. That’s all I got in response to such an amazing work of art.

Beautiful project, Maria. The bird is graceful with such tranquil plumage. Thought you might appreciate knowing about the project above. My artist friend Donna Drozda from Virgin Beach is sending a collection of paper feathers.
Donna, the project looks just wonderful. Thank you for making me aware of it.
