This is the gnat I pulled from the animal’s water bucket this afternoon. I thought it might still be alive because I saw a glitter of light on its wing which stuck out a bit from the water.
I place it on a fallen apple leaf, then on the fence post in the sun. Sometime after I took this video it flew away.
As annoying as gnats can be, I was delighted to watch its long legs slowly prance across the leaf and its very active antenna.
That was beautiful. Amazing life in that tiny body.
