This morning when the rest of the sheep and the donkeys came in for hay, Suzy and Socks, my first two sheep, didn’t follow.
I saw them way out in the pasture, grazing together.
And I imagined them, the wise older sheep, talking about their long lives and all the animals that have come and gone in the ten years they have lived on Bedlam Farm.
Maybe it’s just me liking the story of these Border Leicesters being life-long friends since that is not something I’ve been able to have in my own life.
But even if they’re not wise old ewes chatting about their lives, I do know that certain animals bond with each other. And I have seen Suzy and Socks spending more time together lately.
