Guard Donkeys

When I took this picture I didn’t even know that Lulu and Fanny had stopped eating and were listening to something I certainly didn’t hear.

Lulu is always on alert, but this time even Fanny turned her head, ears up.  It could have been an animal in the woods, or even a hunter.

It’s because of the donkey’s sharp sense of hearing and their natural instinct as guard animals that we have little trouble with other animals coming onto the farm.
