Yellow Cat Potholder

I was working on my quilt when out of the corner of my eye I saw the fabric that Jon gave me for Christmas.  It was folded up on the corner of my desk, has been for two months, but at that moment, I saw it differently.

I saw it as a potholder.

So I stopped tacking Sheep and Chamois and started pulling fabric off my shelves.  When I had a nice pile I cut a yellow cat out of the fabric and started piecing together a 9″square.

It usually takes me a while to get the first couple of potholders going.  It takes time to get a sense of the design I’ll be working with.

I have a feeling I’ll be designing a few more potholders tomorrow and maybe be finishing up tacking my quilt on Monday.
