After I made the red birds in the snow, inspired by cardinals, I made some black birds.
It was only after I painted them that I began thinking of the magic of ravens. How, as Ted Andrews writes in Animal Speak, they “activate the energy of magic, linking it with your will and intention.” And “Stir the energies to manifest that which you most need.”
I wanted to convey that energy, that magic that they work. That is what I based my stitching on.
I finished paintings, stitching, and designing eight Black Bird Potholders today. I still have to make them into potholders but when I do I will put them up for sale in my Etsy Shop.
