A friend told me that the spring before her husband died, Turkey vultures roosted in the tree outside their house. They had never roosted there before or since.
I found the idea of the vultures as an omen comforting. It would mean there was a connection between them and us. That we are a part of something bigger than ourselves.

This touched my heart deeply. There is a connection between all living things. I will never forget seeing the horses standing just outside the window as my husband was passing. They had always been far away in the fields.
That’s beautiful Fran. I’m sure they knew, even if we don’t understand how.
I think so too.
