Baby Pigeons, Almost Ready To Leave The Nest

Today was the first time I was able to see two pigeons in the nest in the barn.

I couldn’t believe all their feathers.  Although the pigeon in the back looks more downy than the one up front.  That one looks ready to fly.

I read that a pigeon will begin to leave the nest about 28 days after it hatches.  So any day now these pigeons will be flying.

  1. What a treat! A few years back a meme about how no one ever sees a baby pigeon, so how can there be so many adults, was spreading from place to place. You’ve put the question to rest!
