I don’t know if it’s the same monarch caterpillar I saw two days ago or another one. It’s on a different plant and has eaten a hole in the milkweed leaf. I’ve read that they do sometimes travel from one plant to another.
I’m going to try to keep an eye on this one and watch it grow. I have no idea if that’s possible or if it will move around too much for me to keep track of.
I guess I’ll find out.
They do move around a lot and sometimes seem to get lost. One year I watched the whole process through to the maiden flight of the butterfly which was very special.
Oh Carolyn that must have been amazing. I do see just from my little bit of watching them that move around. I spotted four yesterday. And the ones that are on the same leaf are growing!
