Sister Turtle, that the title of an essay about turtles by Mary Oliver. It’s how I thought of them turtles as I was making them. It’s the only name I can give them.
In her essay, Oliver says the turtles she finds are all looking for a place to lay their eggs. Just like the mosquitos who bite her while she watches them.
I did the stitching on my five Sister Turtles and five Raven’s today. They still need to be made into Potholders, but that will come early next week.
