Lulu doesn’t snuggle up to just anyone. She’s forgiven Jon for sending her and Fanny away to a Vermont farm for the winter years ago. But it took many years for her to trust him again. Jon never blamed Lulu, and I think she knows he regrets having done it.
Maybe just by feeling how much he really loves her.
