Susan gave me the squares of vintage fabric that inspired these potholders. Each square comes from a 1930s-1940s flour sack.
These were the cotton bags that flour was sold in. During the Depression the patterns were printed on the sacks and women made dresses using the fabric for themselves and their children.
I added contemporary fabric, scraps that Karen sent me, to the squares to make my potholders.
I made 16 of these colorful potholders after Jon came home from the hospital. I guess I needed those cheerful colors. I already sold nine of the potholders, but still have the ones above available.
They are $25 each + $5 shipping for one or more. You can buy them in my Etsy Shop, just click here.
