A Cup Of Tea For The Cambridge Food Pantry. My Potholder Is Sold

My Cup of Tea and Lamp Potholder.   It’s $19.99 + $5 shipping.   It is sold.

The pressure was on.  Jon came into my studio with the video rolling.  This morning I was trying out my new sewing machine.  It didn’t take long to get a feel for it and I was ready to draw.

“What should I make?” I said out loud, then launched into something I know very well, beginning with the lampshade I stitched a lamp.

Video done, I thought  about what Jon has said before coming into my studio.  How no one was donating tea or potatoes to the Cambridge Food Pantry.

“Tea?” I said confused.

As a tea drinker  I understand the importance of a cup of tea.  It goes so beyond just the drink, its comfort, tradition, soothing and social.

I can’t count how many times I’ve drawn a cup of tea on a stack of books.  A cup of tea was one of the first stitched drawings I made with my first free motion sewing machine back in 2010.

So, why not make it one of my first drawings with my new sewing machine too.

When I finished I went to the Cambridge Food Pantry Amazon Wishlist and bought six boxes of Stash Tea (20 bags in each box) for $19.99.

Then I made my  Tea Cup and Lamp drawing into a Potholder.

I usually sell my Potholders with drawings on them for $30.  But I’m selling my Tea Cup and Lamp Potholder  for $19.99 + $5 shipping.  And when I do, I’ll buy another 6 boxes of tea for the Food Pantry.

My Potholder is sold.
