Trying Out My New Singer Sewing Machine

I love my new sewing machine.  It didn’t take me long at all to get used to working with it.  So far its just what I hoped for.

Below is the practice piece I did before the video.

  1. Maria,
Your joy and enthusiasm was so evident in the video. Hurray for you for finding exactly the machine you wanted. We’ll wait to see all your upcoming creations!

  2. So wonderful to see you doing your story telling thru your freestyle again. Made me wonder , what ever became of the Covid Kimono you were chronicling the days on ? Maybe I totally missed it ?
I love your creativity when your thoughts and hands work together. Have Fun !!

  3. I you are amazing to watch while free motion sewing!
I haven’t been able to master the art of free motion sewing. I start out moving right along and then my hands stop and I get a rats nest on the back of my project along with a stuck, tangled needle. I think I need a visual to follow so I don’t stop and think while the machine is still going. Maybe I’ll try again sometime and see what happens.
Congratulations on your new machine and here’s to many happy hours creating beautiful art!

    1. I have a lot of practice Josie, but somehow it came easy to me. Its the opposite of how we usually draw, moving the “paper” instead of the “Pencil”. When I first started I used an invisible pen to make my drawings and stitch over them. Maybe that’s a good way for you to get used to it.
