Fanny and Lulu were reluctant to follow me into the back pasture, but the sheep were right behind me.

Now the pasture is tall with Bee Balm, Queen Anne’s lace and Joe pye Weed.

I picked a few flowers for Jon so he could add them to his bouquet to take pictures of.

The pasture is alive with insects too. I sat and watched the bees, flies and butterflies on one patch of Bee Balm. There was constant movement and humming. This weekend I plan to spend more time in the pasture watching the insects and being among the flowers.

Maria what a beautiful series of photographs – capturing so much – the sheep – the wildflowers and the streaks of sunlight filtering through. Timeless feeling of season and nature…
Ah Thank you Peg, As I said to Sandy, I was hoping to be able to share all of that.
I love all the photos of the sheep in the meadow of beautiful wildflowers. So idyllic.
Sandy, One year we bush hogged the pasture early, before the flowers had a chance to bloom. I learned from that, not to do that again. The donkeys, sheep, insects, rabbits, deer and us humans get so much from the flowers and grasses when they get to flower. I’m glad to be able to share it in my photos.
