Eggs and moons and a small girl smelling giant flowers surround these rabbits and chicks. There’s women and nature, regeneration, rebirth, and those mysterious stamps. Maybe for all the unknown that is to be discovered.
I realize looking at these potholders that most of the images are symbols found in the art of the ancient goddess. Even those innocent looking chicks. The bird goddess is one of the earliest, associated with the life-giver.
So many goddesses stand on bird feet.
It’s a story I still don’t have all the words for or know how to string together. Which I suppose is why it came out in the form of images on my Potholders.
It wasn’t spring I was feeling, but the birth or rebirth of something for sure.
And naturally my mind goes to politics.
For me there is a feeling of excitement and hope. Like our country is having a rebirth and that once again, the goddess is rising.
