There’s a moth in the grass,
but I wouldn’t know that
if I didn’t see it walk up and down
a thick, green blade
fluttering its wings.
I look away and think I’ll never be able to find it again.
But I do
One piece of grass is
bent over
to make a little box,
to frame it.
I look up and see a flock of blackbirds land in the branches of the stand of trees on the fence line. They are so far away. If I didn’t know they were there, I’d think they were leaves.
Just like the moth in the grass.
