Morning Coffee Potholder And “New” Shelves For The Cambridge Food Pantry

Sarah’s Morning Coffee Potholder.  A gift from Carol.

Carol bought the Morning Coffee Potholder that I made last week to benefit the Cambridge Food Pantry.  With the money I bought three 12oz bags of coffee.

Carol also asked if I would give the Potholder to Sarah, the director of the Food Pantry.  She was very happy to receive it and sent me the photo above of it hanging in her kitchen.

This morning Sarah was putting up some “new” shelves in the Food Pantry and I went to help.  There were a two other women already there when I arrived. Sarah got the steel shelves from the Hardware Store in town which  is being renovated.

The shelves were all in pieces and finding the right ones that fit together wasn’t as easy as it at first seemed.  Also, some pieces were missing and Sarah had to go back to the Hardware store to replace others that didn’t work.  But we kept at it and figured it out together.

By the time I left, we had two shelves up.    Later Sarah sent me a picture of the third shelf that was too big for the space.    Her father cut it down to the right size and now it fits perfectly.

I’m discovering that Sarah always finds a way to get things done.

Having the metal shelves not only looks good, but they can hold more food, are sturdier and are easier to clean and stock.

Two of the new shelves at the Food Panty.  Much of the food on them came from all of you in The Army Of Good. (Thank you!)
