I used a glue stick to attach some scraps of fabric and pieces of torn paper to each piece of watercolor paper.

Once I was at The Mansion, I opened up the book Lines Of Vision by Judy Collischan of drawing by women.
I chose mostly abstract drawings in different mediums. It inspired a conversation about drawing in general and lines, shapes and colors.

Betty began her drawing by making the green paper into a balloon. Then she just went with her feelings.

Art peeled off the fabric and paper I glued to his piece of paper and used one of his car magazines as a reference to draw a truck.

Susan saw a fish and a pillow, then went abstract.

Ellen wanted to continue coloring the leopard she had started before I showed up. I pointed out to her how the spots and the colors of her leopard matched the colors she was wearing.

Even if I hadn’t seen each person making their drawing and their names weren’t on them, I’d be able to tell who made each one. Each person has a very distinctive style that comes through as their own.
Jennifer’s lines are always confident and she has her favorite colors.

Mary was uncertain what to do at first. When I suggested she outline one of the shapes, she just took it from there. I love the simplicity of the large shapes and the colors.
