When Zip first came to the farm about a year ago, he used to chase the chickens. And the chickens would run.
Now it’s more fun for Zip and the hens may be startled by Zip when he sneaks up on them, but they never run too far.
Zip doesn’t go in the hen house anymore either. Maybe he has established his territory and he has decided the coop isn’t a part of it. Or maybe Zip lost interest because the birds who used to go into the coop to eat the chicken food don’t anymore.
I think, after a year, the farm has gone back to being as peaceable as it was when Minnie and Flo were alive and doing their barn cat thing.
