  1. You and Jon have been such a positive influence in my world. This is going to sound rabbit-holey but bear with me. Jon’s flower art and postings of Georgia O’Keeffe quotes lead me to check out “Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Collection” from the library. I read it in one sitting (it’s not hard to do as it’s mostly pictures) and what struck me about her art more than anything was her use choice of colors. I’m an aspiring beader and found her color combinations amazing. Really inspirational and I’m going to use a number of them in my future bracelets. The first one that struck me like a bolt of lightening was her 1920 work “Abstraction Seaweed and Water – Maine”. This and some of her other works made me think of you, Maria. This one in particular. As I was checking this book out from the library, I spotted “See What You’re Missing: New Ways of Looking at the World Through Art” by Will Gompertz, and his second chapter is about English painter John Constable (1776-1837) and his depiction of clouds in his art. When I saw this picture today, the first thing I noticed was the clouds behind the apple tree. They are so beautiful, and I was really impressed with how they added so much to the picture for me. Two days ago, I wouldn’t have even noticed them!

    1. Ah, I love that Gail, how one thing leads to another in a good way like this. It’s really all about looking and paying attention. Just like with your beading, how color become important. Thanks for you message.
