As much as I love the view from the farm of the mountain and trees, the fields and marsh, I also love the shapes that make up our neighbors house.
From a distance they are long grounded triangles stacked on top of each other, supported by solid squares. They create a pattern that softens my gaze and slows my breath.
I have taken many pictures of the house, even drawn it, but until now I’ve never been able to convey its essence, the way it makes me feel.
Maybe because this photo, blurred by the inadequacy of the camera, looks like something between a photo and painting. Maybe something a printmaker would create.
I am just glad even though it wasn’t what I expected, I was able to see it for what it is. The image and feeling I’ve been tying to relate, the story I’ve been trying to tell for so long.

Beautiful – your photo, feelings, and descriptions
