Zinnia dug apples
from the bed of rotting leaves
in the shade garden
and gobbled them noisily
the chickens
pecked around the coop
reluctant to come out
Lori, with the white heart on her nose,
asked for grain with her hay
Fate waited hopefully at the gate
and the morning moon sang to me

Beautiful and peaceful
So glad you’re there to read it DawnMarie.
Me too
:)
ahh Maria. . . you are an artist in so many ways. This poem belongs to those beginning to think poemwise. . . like conversing with their inner god in constant verbal exchange. It is a wondrous day to find a cosmic matched mind. A religion professor contacted me one day announcing happily as he walked campus of his first experience. He was skeptical till it happened. You bring so many things to mind. thank you. veronica
Veronica, it is just like that, conversing with my “inner god in constant verbal exchange.” The words just come. I’ve never heard it put that way before. Thanks for your insight and good words.
Maria, why do you always delete my comments? It makes me sad as you’re such an inspiration for me as I try to live as fully as I can every day in spite of Stage 4 cancer.
Hazel, I have no idea what you’re talking about. I haven’t received or deleted any of you comments. But I wish you the best.
So perfect that Mother Moon is showing herself at the start of the day
and your poem to greet us as we go about our chores
and set our wishes for the day
thank you Maria
Thank you Sharon. :)
