I just got home from a trip to Art Omi, a Sculpture Park in Ghent NY. My friend Emily and I spent the day walking through the park looking at and walking on and through the many outdoor sculptures.

We’d been there before a couple of years ago. There were some new sculptures and we revisited the ones we especially liked.

This earth work called “Other Places” by Beam Jun Kim was one of my favorites. With the wear from people walking on it and the natural elements the sharp edges will soften and eventually “return to the earth as a physical embodiment of memory and forgetting.”

Looking through one of the sculptures at some of the other art in the 120 acre park.

It was the first time, in a long time, that I spent a day away from the farm. I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. But now I’m pretty tired, with not much energy left for writing. So I’ll leave you with these few photos and be back in the morning.

The Tea Cozy by Yolanda Daniels reminds me of the lacework from Shetland.
That’s interesting KJ. It I saw the doilies that work with it in it too. It’s made of steel and is held up steel posts about 20 ” high (Id guess)
Oh wow. I didn’t even think of the media it was made of. Very cool
Yes, KJ, it makes it more intriguing…
Many thanks Maria, for the wonderful tour of this park! And Good for you and your friend, self care is a very important part of our lives!
You said it Marilyn!
I like the one of you being a work of art standing next to a work of art
:)
I really love seeing the tea cozy. It warms me up just to imagine being under it in the sunshine, like a pot of tea being brewed. I wonder what is brewing in me now?
You’ll have to let us know LoisJean. Something wonderful about those two words together, Tea and cozy…
