You danced smoother last week being flat footed and on your heel. Keep dancing that way. Julz texted me.
Can it be that what makes me dance better is having an injured foot? It doesn’t seem possible to me, but talk about something good coming out of something bad…
I have a little cushion that I’m wearing on the ball of my foot under my socks. Even when I’m bellydancing which we always do barefoot. Dancing in my socks is definitely strange. And not going up on my toes takes some thinking for me to do.
I think my Red Chakra is a part of this. That grounding chakra helping to keep me flat on my feet and more connected to the earth.
It was in dance class I learned to walk heel to toe which I have found to be a more confident way of walking. No tip toeing around, it’s heavy and demanding. As if announcing my presence.
So tonight I’ll do it again.
I’ll dance flat on my feet with my socks on. And maybe by the time my foot heals and I can dance barefoot again, I’ll be so used to dancing flat foot, I won’t have to think about it anymore.

Those were interesting observations, by you and Julz.
Really Sandy and last night was my best dancing ever. I will write about it…
Life is full of surprises. Who would have thought flat footed dancing would be better when belly dancing.
How wonderful such a gift came from an injured foot. A reminder for me not to assume everything is as it seems.
It really is a good reminder LoisJean. This one was obvious, but I feel like may things we think of as bad have hidden gifts, if we can find them. Not to say that bad things don’t happen, just that sometimes good things happen along side them.
Yes, side by side.
