The hens have molted and grown back their new coat of feathers. Now they’re ready for the winter and they’re looking good.
They all came running when they saw me. When Kitty and Anne discovered I had nothing for them to eat they lost interest.
But White Hen hung around and modeled her new feathers for me. She’s ten years old but it’s still not easy to tell her apart from Kitty and Anne who are 3 years old.
She is a beauty. I miss my chickens too. My son has some and my oldest daughter, your age, also has a good flock. The chickens come running when I bring them goodies and they are fun. Not many eggs right now.
It’s nice that you get to be around chickens even if they’re not yours Uta. And it sounds like they know you. We’re not getting any eggs either. I do miss the fresh eggs.
