The woods are crunchy with dry leaves. As if the world had turned upside down and what used to be up so high is now under my feet.

Wading through the thick leaves made me notice the fallen trees, weathered and sculptured by the elements.

In them I saw both landscapes and the most intricate designs.

The only green left are the ferns and moss. Some of the fern will stay green even in the snow.

Most of the mushrooms are long gone, but I found a few. These were only about a quarter inch tall, but they and the moss growing along side them, make a tiny garden of the hole in this rotting log.

There is so much to see in Nature if you only look!
It’s so true Carolyn!
