Full Moon Fiber Art

Jon, His New Lens and His Flower Photos

I was working on my quilt when I looked out my studio window and saw Jon taking pictures of his new Calla Lilies and some cut  tulips.

There is something sweet about seeing Jon taking pictures out my studio window, both of us doing our work.

Jon becomes more dedicated and learns more about his art everyday.   When we first met, Jon was a writer, now he’s an artist as well.  Something he still doesn’t always see himself as.

Often when Jon gets a new lens for his camera it takes me a while to be able to see the difference in his photos.  But with his new macro lens is obvious.

What I see in these new pictures is that he can get closer to his subject and with much more detail.  But it also softens parts of the photo while being hyper focused on a small detail.  The colors are much more saturated and there is a softness I’ve not seen in Jon’s photos before.

You can see the photographs that Jon took this afternoon here.

Zip is always there to keep Jon company
