More Work On My Scrap Quilt

I’ve abandoned my Scarp Art wall hangings to work on my quilt.  I will get back to them, but the quilt has me in its grip.

Part of it is that I love making sense out of all those scraps.  It’s like creating something beautiful from chaos. It’s both satisfying and soothing.  And it’s moving along so easily it keeps me focused and in the moment.

A good place to be right now.

I have two  rules for the quilt. One is that use only scraps.  The other is that as I finish sewing fabric around the quilt, the next ring of fabric has to being with the same piece of fabric as the last I sewed, or one similar to it.

And then, of course, I sometimes break my rules.

The last thing I did in my studio today was sew a bunch of long strips of fabric together.  I’ll add them onto the top and bottom of the quilt, breaking the pattern that got me this far.
