I knew there was a good chance I wouldn’t have enough time to get it done, but I wanted to at least get started trying to fix fence. Two wooden fence posts rotted and broke in the back pasture.
They are in a part of the pasture that the animals don’t use much and there is so much brush that they can’t get past it to the neighbors yard.
But it won’t stay that way, as the plants die back for the winter, the sheep may be able to find their way though the broken fence.

This afternoon when I let the sheep and donkeys out to graze, I took two metal fence posts and the sledge hammer with me. After several tries, hitting rocks on the way down, I was able to get both posts in the ground.
I was also able to hook the five stands of wire to the first post. But I had trouble with the second post and will have to go back with a few more tools to hook the wire onto the post.
But I left that for another day.
When I was done, I went back to the barnyard and put hay in the feeders. I called out to the sheep and donkeys and they came running.
Then I went back and closed the gate for the night.
