I had a choice this morning. I could fill up my bags of Wool Pellets and put them up for sale in my Etsy Shop, or I could work in my studio.
I chose to go to my studio.
Yesterday I spent the day finishing up my Shadow Bird Potholders and contacting the people who had preordered them. Then I made labels for my Wool Pellets, and sent out four bags to the people who had emailed me about them.
The shipping for the Wool Pellets had me stumped for a couple of days.
I bought one pound plastic lined coffee bags to package the Pellets. I also bought 8x6x4″ boxes to ship them in. But shipping doubles for anything over a pound and I found that if I put the Wool Pellets in a 9×12 Flat Rate Padded envelope from the Post Office, it can go anywhere in the country for just under $10. I can still use the boxes for orders that are more local.
I had the stickers with the photo of Socks on it from last winter. I was saving them to use on my yarn and roving packages, but they fit so well on the coffee bags. And I like having a picture of my sheep on the bag. Even though Socks is no longer with us, I still see her as a part of my flock (as I do all the sheep I’ve ever had) I also attached my card to the bag, with brief instructions on how to use the Wool Pellets.
I have four or five more pounds of Wool Pellets available. I hope they are popular enough for me to have more made. I still have a couple of bags of junk wool that I’d love to be able to repurpose in this way.
Tomorrow I will be selling my Wool Pellets in my Etsy Shop for $22 a bag + $10 shipping. If anyone is interested in a bag, you can also email me at [email protected]. I take checks, PayPal and Venmo.
