The cactus grew at least three times it’s size this summer. It was happy on the back porch getting many hours of direct sunlight.
Now, in the east facing window it’s flowering. I spotted the small pink buds a week or so ago. At first I wasn’t sure they were buds, I’d never had a cactus flower this way. They circled the top of the cactus like a daisy chain.
Every day I watched them get a little more defined. Then Yesterday, two flowers popped out of the spines, hot pink with a small dot of yellow at the center.
Such a joy, especially this time of year.
