I finished Pink today. Now she is on her way to her new home on the other side of the country.
I always lay my quilts on the bed in the guest room.
There I cut all the loose threads and run a lint roller over them as I fold them up for shipping. I also get to see how the quilt looks on a bed. Some look better on the wall, others the bed.
I think Pink looks just right on both.

I cut these squares with the girl on the goat so she is always visible as she is above.
Pink turned out great! While looking at it on the bed I got an idea for my granddaughter Jamies quilt. I have 3 odd size pieces of fabric and lots of 4×6 and 6×6 squares from the things I’ve sewn for her over the years. I think those 3 odd fabric pieces will make a great focal point so I think I will build around those. I love it when something just jumps out at me, I’ve learned from you to listen when that happens. Thank you for your creative inspiration!
That’s why we keep all those piece of fabric Josie! They all have their time. I’m so glad you’re onto something new. Would love to see it when it’s done.
the color of this quilt really caught my eye. The delicate shade of pink is eye catching yet the quilt is not overly fussy. A break from your usual quilts but eye-catching just the same. you nailed it – again!

This is a beautiful quilt Maria! To me it has a much more classic/traditional look than many of your quilts, which I would catogorize as more modern, along the lines of the Gees Bend quilts. Maybe it’s the soft pink color. All of your work is beautiful, the fact that you start one quilt & follow through to the end without getting side-tracked by another large project is so inspiring to me. I have so many WIPs and projects in my head, the distractions keep me from following a project through to the end.

Thanks so much Vikki, I guess it is kind of different someone else wrote that too. I didn’t really see it, but then I’m probably too close to my work to see it the way other people do. It’s interesting. I do have the ability to stay focused, it also helps that I need to sell my work :). Wishing you a bright Solstice.
