Sometimes, after I put hay out for the sheep, I crouch down between them at the feeder. Kim will move away from me, but the other sheep just keep eating.
It’s a whole other world at the feeder.
Everyone is very busy, there’s lots of rustling hay and the crunch and grind of sheep teeth. Some of the sheep eat low, hardly lifting their heads and others, grab a mouthful and eat with their heads high.

The sheep may move around the feeder, but they don’t push or shove each other. I think they know there will be enough for all of them.
As a human, it’s really quite a peaceful, even contemplative place to spend time. There is enough activity to keep my interest, but it’s also repetitive and calming.
Especially this time of year when it’s not too cold and there’s plenty of winter grazing to keep the sheep from getting bored between feedings.

Maria one of my favorite things about your videos – the sheep munching on their hay. watching and listening to them is somehow very contemplative for me. Wonderful images, as usual!
It is for me too Peg. I’m glad it comes across in the videos.
