It was the first day all week that I had nothing else planned but to work in my studio.
And I did, all morning and into the afternoon. So long that by the time I was done and took a picture of the quilt, with the birds, that I’m working on, the light was so poor the quilt in my photos looked nothing like it does in reality.
So I have no picture of the work I did in my studio today.
But I do have this portrait of Kim, my oldest sheep, in the afternoon snow.
Unexpected, the kind of snow that tickles when it lands on bare skin. A thin layer on everything horizontal, not enough to wet the wood that I have piled in the barnyard for our Winter Solstice Bon Fire tomorrow night.
I keep hearing how cold it’s going to be this weekend. Below Zero, perfect for the longest night. Jon says he’ll be okay with a blanket over his legs. Maybe I’ll mull the wine to keep our insides warm too.

I love everything about this post. Have a magical Winter Solstice Bon Fire❤️❤️Will be thinking of all of youand looking forward to photos. Enjoythe warmth.
Thank You Gwen!
