Before the snow I went for a walk in the woods and found ice. It softened the edges of rocks like a fringe…
…It was hard and dark in the hollows of trees…
…It froze the soft openings on moss covered trunks….
…It clung to bark like diamonds…
and it frosted the belly of more than one fern.
