Parrots On A Cold, Cloudy Day

Overcast and cold a thin layer of snow on the ground.  These are not the birds I see out my studio window at the feeder.  But they are the birds that I found in a tin with fabric I put aside for possible Potholders.

It was that colorful strip of small squares to the left of the parrot above that made me pull out these tropical birds. Someone else had sewn them together and discarded them.  But I was able to find their place in this world.

I had a total of three parrots.  Working with their fiery colors  kept me warm.

  1. Your lively parrot potholders are sure to brighten up someone’s kitchen. They are too bright and happy to hide in a drawer! I have a hook in the kitchen for my happy potholders! Beautiful to look at and handy to grab when I need them!

    1. They cheered me up making them Josie. I keep all my potholders on a hook too, they’re a bit worn but I still like looking at them when I use them. And two of them are yours. :)

  2. Love the happy colors! It’s contagious as I too am creating some mixed media art with the oriole bird and bright colors. It’s been soooo cold here with many cloudy days.

    1. It’s kind of wonderful how we get to do that isn’t it Barb, bring all those bright colors into our lives when it’s cold and cloudy.
