Every morning I muck out the pole barn. The manure pile is already more than Jon and I will use in our gardens.
The sheep and donkeys spend the winter nights in the barn, I can tell by the droppings they leave behind.
Although it has been snowing a little bit almost every day, it hasn’t amounted to much. But a few days ago I went to muck out the barn on the hard packed earth was snow like two lungs or the wings of a beetle.

It was unusual, but I could easily imagine one of the sheep, covered in snow, standing in the pole barn and giving a good shake. The snow falls off the wooly coat to either side and the sheep lays down between it.
