I was feeding the hens when Zip jumped up on the roosting bar.
I don’t know if Zip has ever actually gone into the Chicken Coop when the hens were inside it. But I doubt he’d challenge them in their own house.
Just last week I watched a stand-off between White Hen and Zip outside my studio window.
For almost a minute they stood staring at each other before Zip backed down and walked away. I don’t know what happened, but I think White Hen was determined not to give up her spot under the bird feeder.
