Frankie and The Bee Pillow

Linda sent me this picture of her cat Frankie looking gorgeous while leaning on the Bee Pillow that I made.

Frankie is  part Norwegian Forest Cat, Siberian, Maine Coon and mutt cat.  When Linda adopted her she was starving and ragged.

It took her a month to recuperate and was “a very spicy little thing that growled, spit , bit and hissed as soon as she had enough energy!”   Frankie has finally settled into the house and will even cozy up with Linda, but still doesn’t like to be held.

Linda also wrote about the things in her house that I made.  “The potholders are used daily, the wool dryer balls still dry loads and loads of clothes.” And at night she wraps up in the mohair shawl that Suzy made.

Linda wrote that the connections are personal and important to her.  I feel the same way.

It’s just what I hope my art will do.  Bring a bit of beauty to everyday life and bring us closer through those things that we share, even when we only know each other at a distance.

  1. “Bring a bit of beauty to everyday life and bring us closer through those things that we share, even when we only know each other at a distance.”

Thank you, Maria. This is just what we need now, what we need to focus on- beauty, closeness and sharing- to get us through these days of sorrow and anger. Connecting with like-minded people can help us know that we can do something to help the earth and our endangered fellow humans.

  2. Frankie matches the pillow perfectly. Cats seem to know what makes them look good. Oscar, my gray cat, knew that laying on an orange Moroccan rug would bring out his eyes.
