I pulled the fabric out last week and lined it up on my work table.
I was in the mood for something bright and fantastical, something fun with a positive feeling. It was the colors and design that caught my eye, but then when I saw the goose, flower in mouth, offering it to a rabbit and a fox, I though it just the kind of message I was looking for.
The bright planets and stars from another swatch of fabric were the perfect compliment. A big bold shape that helped tell the story by giving it context and a place in the larger universe.
A fairy tale for sure, but it seems a good time for a bit of enchantment.
After the first two, the rest came joyfully and quickly. I stopped after designing 13 Potholders. By then I had run out of planets and stars, and figured I’d quit on that lucky number.
13 Fairy Tale Potholders
How delightful! What a wonderful way to brighten up a pot handle or a table top.
:)
Maria I would like one of the fairy tale potholders. Either the one with the bunny or the fox and the duck.
They look like the cover of a children’s book that would delight any one who picks it up to read.
Kathy, I was thinking the were like a page from a children’s book too. I will have one for you. I’ll email you also. thank you!
Fully sewed whimsy with a dash of function, how can one resist I ask? Are they gone or may be the ne caretaker of one of your rabbits ma’am? We’ll be honored to give a new home to the little one…
HI Walt, They are not all gone, I plan on finishing them next week then I’ll have them in my Etsy Shop for sale. But if you would like one, just let me know. I can make sure you get it. You can email me too at [email protected].
THanks!
