Ideas for more Holding Pillows come to me to me regularly. I see the colors in my mind or the small stitched drawing.
I don’t write them down or sketch them, I know they will come back when I’m ready for them.
This morning it was a piece of deep green velvet that inspired me. As soon as I saw it I thought of the night woods.
This pillow makes me think about going deep inside of myself for comfort. A reminder that if we cut through the layers, beneath them is the shining essence of ourselves.
The oak tree, with its deep roots and the waxing moon are the image to help guide the journey.
My Holding Pillows are about bringing comfort. The woods and nature in general is a place where I continually find comfort and a sense of myself. So I know it will be a theme I will continue to explore.
