I was getting wood the other day when Zip showed up. It’s not unusual for him to appear whenever Jon or I go outside. And he loves to hang around when I’m getting wood.
It’s a bit of a challenge for him to get into the attic space in the woodshed where he sleeps, because the cords of firewood are dwindling.
Flo used to just climb up the wall, I saw her do it a few times. She reminded me of the way a vampire might climb a wall.
But Zip is a showman. Somehow he seems to know what will get our attention and what will make a good picture.

The window in the woodshed doesn’t have any glass or a screen in it. It’s just an open space. I’ve seen birds sitting on the ledge, but this was the first time I saw a cat in the window.
I have no doubt Zip was posing for me.
But he was also looking at the ledge, that leads to the attic, about three feet away. I could see him sizing up the space and thinking about making the jump.
I left before he did that, but I did hear him walking around in the space above the kitchen a little while later.
That was after I got some pictures of Zip in the woodshed window.
