Jon kept saying and even wrote about how White Hen and I talk to each other. I didn’t think about it too much, but when he took a video me and White Hen this morning, I could see he was right.
But I also know that White Hen can’t understand what I’m saying anymore than I can understand her. So this afternoon I decided to try talking to her in her own language.
She always comes running when I make a clucking chicken sound because she knows it means I have food. That’s one thing we both understand.
So I thought I’d just try to imitate the sounds she made and see what happened. It worked so I took this video.
I still don’t know what White Hen is saying, but it does seem like she’s talking to me.

Loving comments between friends.

So very sweet! Although there is a bit of a language barrier, there is definitely a connection between the both of you. I have a pet society finch and we peep back and forth sometimes. I also have parakeets who love to chatter with me. Birds can be very intuitive. Thanks for putting a smile on my face!
Of course, I hadn’t though of other birds Debbie. They really do take to the people they live with. In many ways.
