I caught Zip sunning himself with Fanny and Lulu.
The donkeys will stand in the sun for hours, their bodies turning every so slightly, like a sunflower, following its winter arch.

Ah, Zip the king of Bedlam Farm!
That’s for sure Richard!
Such a poetic line: “their bodies turning every so slightly, like a sunflower, following its winter arch.” I’m super excited as we are going to Gypsy Gold Farm tomorrow in Ocala, FL. Not only do they have gorgeous Gypsy Vanner horses, but lots of donkeys too!
Oh Barb, Have a great time! As I know you will. I’m glad you’ll get your donkey fix. :)
It was the best, Maria!! They had every size, plus a baby donkey. I got a pic with myself and the mini donkey to the mother of the baby donkey, plus lots of other pics. I’m still floating on a cloud six hours later.
you’d love the owners mission with the donkeys to teach kids virtues as each one is named after a virtue, Empathy, Compassion, Kindness, etc. can’t wait to write about it for my next newsletter!
I can’t wait to read it Barb and hopefully see some pictures. And a baby donkey too! Sounds like a wonderful place. So glad you got to be there.
P.S. they also had copies of Jon’s Saving Simon book for sale in their gift shop. :)
Well that makes sense! Jon smiled when I told him. :)
