White Hen Chases Zip Away

Even though she’s 11 years old and spending her days in a stall in the barn, White Hen can take care of herself.

This is the second time I watched her ask Zip to leave and he did.  I talk to White Hen by imitating her clucks and peeps, but I don’t speak her language.

Zip obviously does.

White Hen was fine with Zip when he climbed on the hay bale for a visit, but she has her limits and she lets him know what they are.  There was no wild flapping of wings, pecking, or harsh cries, just a few clucks  that Zip understands and respects.
