I can’t really explain my Night Bird Potholders any more than to say what when into them.
They were inspired by the smell of Night Jasmine. Not that I was literally smelling the flower, but a memory of the smell of Jasmine from when I went to India.
That led to me using the birds, scraps of fabric left on my worktable, to make these potholders. I did find something romantic in them, even before I read that Night Jasmine was a symbol of love, mystery, sensuality and romance.
I will have to think about them more, but not until I’m done working on them. I want to work from feeling rather than from my intellect.
I didn’t get to work on the today because I was finishing up my White Hen Walk About Potholders and sending them off in the mail. I have a couple of them still available which I will put up for sale in my Etsy Shop on Wednesday along with a few more packs of Bedlam Farm Dryer Balls.
I’m looking forward to getting back into my studio tomorrow.
